A beautiful warm, sunny, summer evening provided just the right conditions to enjoy the company in their lovely garden.

Rotary Quiz
The club's quiz team comprising John Langford (Captain), Peter Horne, Tony Chappell and David Miller having previously progressed in their last round, failed in their bid to reach the next round of the District Quiz. Perhaps the trip to some far away venue in rural Lincolnshire did not inspire them sufficiently.
Inter-Club Bowling Evening
Not until their arrival at the Bowling Centre in Hexthorpe did members realise that this was bowls with a jack and woods, and not bowls and skittles. Members of the three Doncaster Rotary Clubs enjoyed a good meal and a couple of hours of trying to get a big black bowl near a little white ball. They did not find it easy but enjoyed the evening on 20th April 2005.
Stroke Awareness 2005
Stroke Awareness blood pressure test centres were set up at three venues in Doncaster on 8th and 9th April 2005, and were manned by Rotarians from our own and the St Leger clubs. 617 people were tested and 21% were advised to seek further medical advice as a result. Thanks are due to Sheila Bryant for organising our club's involvement.

The 83rd Charter Dinner was held at Doncaster Golf Club on 19th February 2005 when about 100 Rotarians and their partners enjoyed a good evening where the guest speaker was Rev. David Ottaway, the vicar of Winningly. Past District Governor Les Connell also spoke in his usual entertaining fashion on the work of the Rotary Foundation in Africa.
Paul Harris Award
President Peter Wyatt was awarded a well-deserved Paul Harris Fellowship by past District Governor Les Connell at the 83rd Charter Dinner.

Attended by 150 members and friends in brilliant sunshine on Sunday 15th August 2004, nearly £1,400 was raised for the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice Appeal. The event was enhanced by the arrival of the Doncaster Chapter of Harley Davidson Owners on their immaculate machines.
Tickhill Jubilee Wood
Twelve Rotarians and their wives walked from Tickhill Castle to the Tickhill Jubilee Wood to visit the trees planted in 2002. The trees are thriving, and after walking back, the members and their partners were treated to wine and savouries at the home of Mr & Mrs Tony Sheridan to whom we are very grateful for their kind and generous hospitality. President Peter presented a cheque for £120 on behalf of the club's Environmental Committee for the provision of bat and owl boxes.
New President
New President Peter Wyatt was installed on Monday 5th July 2004 with aims to increase membership. All members are to become more involved in Rotary matters and to forge closer links with other local Rotary Clubs.
